DARTS fans are furious as touts appear to have got their hands on tickets to the World Championships.
There has been pandemonium online over the last two days as supporters scrambled to secure their spot at Ally Pally this year.
More fans than ever before wanted to see the likes of Luke Littler and Luke Humphries, with a record 40,000 bought by annual members in the first 30 minutes of pre-sale yesterday.
The website struggled to cope with demand and some fumed as they got stuck on a “black screen”.
The PDC issued a statement, saying: “We recommend to annual members to keep trying for the sessions they want.
“Remember that some tickets are kept in baskets and will become available again should transactions not complete within six minutes.”
Today, a second batch went on sale to those who signed up to priority access.
But thousands were left disappointed as they missed out on tickets and they then began to rage after seeing hundreds of seats listed on resell websites.
Many were being sold from £150 to £800 each – when face value ranged from £50 to £95.
It left darts lovers angry, with one tweeting: “I genuinely think the PDC should declare all tickets sold void, and start afresh. How can genuine fans, who have paid an annual membership get no further than a black screen.”
Another added: “Appears multiple bots got tickets over fans who fork out for a PDC membership. Utterly ridiculous.”
A third fumed: “£50-a-year subscription and any tickets you can get in your ‘basket’ have gone by the time your payment goes through. Absolute s***.”
More reacted: “14 consecutive World Champs and various other PDC events and can’t even get close to buying a £56 ticket which are now selling on resell sites. Absolute shambles.”
This year’s World Championships runs from December 15 to January 3.
